Back in March during the 10 year celebration for Square Enix’s NieR franchise, the Japanese publisher revealed a new project for the series is underway: NieR Repolicant. Well, the game is actually titled ‘NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…’, the abbreviated version is better to use during conversations. But the new title, alike the version which kicked off the series, is intended as developer Toylogic Inc. is reworking the classic game.
Given that the new title will be slated for current console hardware (Xbox, PlayStation) and PC, the firm has yet to share a proper release date for the game. But following a recent announcement during the Tokyo Game Show this week, players in both Japan and other regions can finally mark their calendars.
In a new trailer shared, NieR Replicant will be arriving later this April next year: first in Japan with a western release to take place in following day. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“A thousand-year lie that would live on for eternity…,” the overview reads in the trailer’s description. “The protagonist is a kind young man living in a remote village. In order to save his sister Yonah, who fell terminally ill to the Black Scrawl, he sets out with Grimoire Weiss, a strange talking tome, to search for the ‘Sealed verses’.”
In addition to the spring-scheduled release date, Square Enix also spared the details for White Snow Edition for NieR Replicant. The pre-order bundle is said to include a ‘Lunar Tear’ Collector’s Box, decorative Steelbook case, Pin Badge set, Script set, and Soundtrack CD set running for $159.99. Pre-ordering on respected storefronts will also include digital goodies such as samples from the game’s soundtrack.
