In regards to the next anticipated Final Fantasy projects underway, publisher Square Enix and its respected internal studios are already carried away with its own ambitious endeavors. For one, the team has already commenced development for the second part for the Final Fantasy VII Remake since before the release of the first issue back in April 2020. However, it does not end there.
Also centered around Final Fantasy VII, newly discovered trademarks were filed for Ever Crisis, “The First Soldier”, and Shrina Electric Power Company logo were all uncovered in both Japan and later in Europe. Many fans are suspecting to see a reveal for another spin-off, but this to be centered around a story for antagonist Sephiroth.
Now in a recent Final Fantasy XIV Announcement Showcase trailer this past Friday, Square Enix shines the spotlight on the ongoing title revealing its latest expansion – Endwalker. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:
“Endwalker features the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story, in which Warriors of Light will encounter an even greater calamity than ever before as they travel to the far reaches of Hydaelyn and even to the moon,” the company writes in the press release. “In addition to bringing the long-running story arc that began with A Realm Reborn to its conclusion, Endwalker will mark a new beginning for the beloved MMO, setting the stage for new adventures that longtime fans and new players can enjoy together.”
Even more, players already expanding their characters on the PlayStation 4 version are in for a treat: Final Fantasy XIV is coming to PlayStation 5. An open beta is said to arrive on April 13, 2021 and to feature unique enhancements beating its initial version. Those include a 4K resolution output, smoother framerate, and shortened load times.
In regards to the coming expansion slated for this fall, Endwalker is told to include new jobs, dungeons, and even a “small-scale PvP mode”. Additionally, the firm also discloses an increased level cap from 80 to 90, the new Arkasodara tribe, new high-level raid Pandæmonium, and feature new areas to explore: Garlemald, Thavnair, and the city of Radz-at-Han.
As for other coming franchise additions, Final Fantasy XVI is in development as well. Last touched upon, it was reported that the coming installment is already finished with the base development for the title. You can read the full report by heading here.
