In the runoff of the recent finalizing for Microsoft’s acquisition of Zenimax Media, the Bethesda parent company, there is still some energy lingering which persuades some to believe that the momentum will continue from the Xbox company very soon. However, there is no structure to support the speculation aside from talk within the industry as of late.
However, one report from Bloomberg Japan suggests that there is one possible interest for Microsoft – Square Enix. The Xbox firm is not the only point of interest for the purchase says the publication as there happens to be multiple candidates that also fancy the potential purchase of the prolific Japanese publisher. But, the tip appears to be false in a new press release.
Coming from the mouth of Square Enix, the firm states that it has no plans to sell nor did it receive interest from any potential buyers as of late.
Bloomberg has reported today that there is interest from several buyers to acquire Square Enix. However, this report is not based on any announcement by SQUARE ENIX HOLDINGS CO., LTD. We do not consider selling off the company or any part of its businesses, nor have we received any offer from any third party to acquire the company or any part of its businesses.
Although there are no plans for Microsoft to outright purchase the Japanese entity, that is not to say it already established propositions behind closed doors. In one report from IGN Korea, Square Enix has orchestrated to ship at least six more published releases to Xbox Game Pass in the coming months.
Additionally, it is also speculated that Microsoft strong-handed Square Enix in making Octopath Traveler a console exclusive to Xbox. While the game is available now for purchase alongside its debut on Xbox Game Pass, Square Enix did not want to provide a comment on the recent decision. You can read the full report by heading here.
