Returning back to the Game Awards in 2018, one title in particular made the main stage during the annual ceremony show unveiling its console release for the PC-unique title. That being The Stanley Parable where Galactic Café announced the Ultra Deluxe version that will reiterate on the classic 2011, story-driven experience for Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.

However, despite the game’s initially slated release for 2019, the team responsible later that November disclosed the game will be facing delay with 2020 to be the next expected release window for The Stanley Parable on console. Understandably, the industry bit the bullet and let time progressed for more to be shared on when fans can expect the official release for the game.

But yet again, the game is now facing another push in its release. This time, the game will now be ushered into 2021 according to Crows Crows Crows. On Twitter, the team posted an update letterhead addressing the situation for the game’s recent delay.

“We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has the adequate time to deliver a Stanley game experience that meets our vision,” the firm pens in the letterhead. “The decision to shift our release is the result of multiple factors that have contributed to development challenges, including the ongoing COVID-related impacts affecting us all this year.”

In addition to the clarification as to what swayed the teams to push Ultra Deluxe to the coming year, Crows Crows Crows discloses that the initial timeframe to ship the game this year would have been this holiday season. So for the sense of the extended development time, perhaps fans could expect the game to arrive sometime in early 2021 or even later in Q121 that following spring.
