Just one week ago today, Microsoft announced its planned acquisition of Zenimax Media which also includes the bundle of studios that make up video game firm, Bethesda. Now with the company being added to the Xbox Game Studios network of first-party studios, the one question that remains is how the upcoming and anticipated properties from Bethesda will be dealt now that Xbox is owners of the properties.

Specifically referencing Starfield & The Elder Scrolls VI since those are the only two far away with no definite platforms of arrival, many argue that the games are definite to be unique to the Xbox ecosystem. However, there is still room for doubt since both have already been announced with Bethesda intending to ship the pair on Xbox as well as PlayStation.

But according to some statements from a couple of industry insiders, it is suggested that Starfield, at least, will be unique to Xbox. In a response tweet from Window’s Central Jez Corden recently, he tells that Starfield will in fact be a unique release for Xbox Series X| S as well as PC.

Corden, of course, is a credible insider regarding Microsoft’s platform as he has relayed accurate information on subjects related to Xbox in the past. One being the prematurely revealed details of the Xbox Series X such as pricing and the Xbox All Access plan for the next-generation console and its companion unit, Xbox Series S earlier this month.

To top this claim, a similar story is also said to be the case from The Verge’s Tom Warren. The senior editor in a separate tweet elsewhere disclosed that Microsoft’s ambitions from the recent purchase will end with exclusive games being a driving point when acquiring Bethesda’s parent company. When one user claimed the deal would bring exclusive DLC to fruition for Xbox, Warren responded by stating “it’ll be full games rather than [that] DLC nonsense.”

In addition to Starfield’s possible unique landing for Xbox, the game is also told to be arriving well ahead of The Elder Scrolls VI. In a post made by Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines, he discloses that the anticipated sequel is still years away. You can read the full report by heading here.

What are your thoughts on Starfield possibly being exclusive to the Xbox platform?
