Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Announced, Arrives In 2022 With Limited Time PlayStation 5 Demo Live Now

In the wait for the next Final Fantasy, it is anticipated that Final Fantasy XVI will be the next release with what Square Enix has in its development pipeline. But, the publisher as you might expect already has other additions on the way aside from the main installment. One very reputable claim comes from Fanbyte where News Editor Imran Khan discloses a new project in collaboration with Team Ninja to be in development.

The project dubbed ‘Final Fantasy Origin’, the experience is said to follow the lengths of a souls-like experience that the developer’s Nioh series stands very close to. Additionally, the project at the time was also said to be a unique release to PlayStation 5 in the original report. However, it was undetermined when the title will actually come to public view for fans to witness.

During the Square Enix Presents Show on Sunday, the firm officially unveiled Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:

“While it is Final Fantasy, it feels different—but there’s no doubt that the blood of Final Fantasy runs through its veins, Creative Producer Tetsuya Nomura explains. “We’ve undertaken the challenge of finding this difficult middle ground for this mature and stylish title. We need a little time until we’re able to complete it, and while the battle system is a bloody one, it does link to the story, so I hope you’ll use this opportunity to give it a try.”

In the announcement, Square Enix also presented a limited time demo available to PlayStation 5 users. However, the aforementioned trial is reported to be finding issues launching as the client for the playtest to be corrupted on the PlayStation Store currently. It has been left undetermined if Square Enix will lengthen the trial period due to the issue.

As for other announcements at the publisher’s showcase, Square Enix also unveiled Eidos Montreal’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The title is a single-player experience scheduled to release later this October. You can read the full report by heading here.
