With the recent news surrounding Telltale Games laying off nearly 90% of the staff, this also meant that all titles planned to come in the upcoming months were cancelled indefinitely. This including games like Wolf Among Us Season 2 and Netflix’s Stranger Things.
In a report from Polygon, Netflix is still determined to have their game based on their 80s-themed thriller Stranger Things.
It was revealed back in June that Telltale and Netflix was partnering together to bring the Minecraft Story Mode to their streaming platform. Along with the reveal of their collaboration, an Walking Dead-based Stranger Things series. Netflix told the outlet about the future of the game regarding telltale’s siruation:
We are in the process of evaluating other options for bringing the Stranger Things universe to life in an interactive medium.
It was mentioned previously that the assumed skeleton crew working on finishing The Walking Dead is actually finishing Minecraft Story Mode for the entertainment platform. For who is up to create the upcoming Stranger Things title wasn’t mentioned specifically as of yet.
Today it was revealed by Telltale that they are also looking for a contender to finish the last season of The Walking Dead.
