The Streets of Rage franchise has been one of the most notable brawlers that has shipped from Sega back during the early 1990s. While the latest mainline entry, Streets of Rage 3 arrived back in 1994, fans have continued to request a fourth installment arrive after two decades of the series going silent.
The highly-insisted fourth entry was announced dating back to 2018, and developer Dotemu has continued to work on the title with a new reveal sharing that the launch date for Streets of Rage 4 will be arriving at the end of this month. In partnership with Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games, the three studio are just about ready to officially ship the game in just less than two weeks.
You can watch the launch trailer for the game in the video below:
“Streets of Rage 4 will be the first entry to the core series in 25 years, standing as Axel, Adam and Blaze’s glorious return to serving up side-scrolling beatdowns. With lush hand-drawn animations, new combat abilities, and fresh tracks from an amazing team of composers, Streets of Rage 4 will be a masterful tribute to and revitalization of the classic action fans adore,” the synapse on the game’s Steam page reads.
In addition to the game officially arriving at the end of April, Dotemu also disclosed that the fan-favorite Battle Mode will be making a return just in time for the game’s release. What the game mode is exactly allows players to select their favorite character and fight against your friends on the provided stages available in the full game.
