Last May, developer Metalhead Software released follow-up Super Mega Baseball 2 which offered a list of improvements which included an online component for players to versus against friends or random players. The same day as the game’s launch, Xbox One users were gifted the game through May 2018’s Games with Gold lineup alongside Konami’s Metal Gear Solid V.
Now this week, the studio has announced that the team has been “quietly hard at work” and is ready to announce that the year old title will be coming to Nintendo Switch as Super Mega Baseball 2: Ultimate Edition.
In the Reddit post, the developer details that the new version of the title will include all added content that is already available for the game. With the debut of the Switch version will also introduce cross-play for the game between Nintendo console, Xbox One, and PC. 60 frames per second will also be present on Switch, detailing that the framerate will be the same on either docked or portable.
Taking advantage of the extra features the platform has to offer, the game will also support single joy con gameplay when playing in shared screen head-to-head. The Ultimate Edition is planned to release next week on July 23rd at $29.99.
