Fans of the Sonic Racing series have been patiently waiting with the release of the upcoming Team Sonic Racing that was originally aimed for this approaching Winter. In the past week or two, rumors have emerged that the title might be getting it’s launch pushed deeper into 2019.
Sega has unfortunately confirmed that the rumors are true with the announcement of the new release date for May next year.
Hey guys! To make Team Sonic Racing the best game it can be, we’re giving the team extra time to work on it. Our new release date is May 21, 2019.
We know delays are no fun, but quality matters most. Thanks for your patience – we’ve got more to show you for TSR very soon!

The now delayed racer is made up of 15 characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe to choose from with the objective to compete in team-based racing. Players will be able to help out teammates when playing by gifting items on the track or giving them the upper hand with drafting opponents to slingshot one another ahead.
Since we won’t see the title until late Spring, I would hope this would give time to not only fix the problems that influenced the delay, but also introduce more characters and tracks to the game. As the title is solely based on the blue blur’s series, there is still a vast amount of characters to choose from to make an appearance in the racer.
Team Sonic Racing now has a release date of May 21, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
