Techland Promises New Anniversary Graphics Update For Dying Light

Share Everywhere!

The Dying Light IP spans now over a decade and has only truly shined thanks to the amount of post-launch attention Techland issued despite only two mainline releases. In our review for Dying Light 2, we even touted probability of that. “Dying Light 2 is a bigger and better game in every possible facet. The campaign is very good and has a lot of replay factor. I strongly believe they have a lot of potential to make another for years with their promise of content for years.”

And although Dying Light 2 is still in its infancy compared to the climbing support of the initial 2015 release, Techland is preparing a new game as well. Last summer, Techland announced Dying Light: The Beast. Taking all the things that makes Dying Light 2 so much better whilst revisiting the protagonist of the first centers a new experience following Kyle Crane once more.

In its recent ‘Dying To Know — Celebrating 10 Years of Dying Light’ video presentation, Techland confirms that Dying Light is planning to receive a new graphical update of sorts – likely for the latest Xbox & PlayStation hardware. You can watch the segment of the livestream below:

“After ten years, we are working on a new update for the game [Dying Light]. It still looks great, but we wanted to squeeze a little bit out of it,” franchise director Tymon Smektala said. “Free for all Dying Light owners, the 10th anniversary update will increase the visual quality and will feature a remastered soundtrack, including the new composition by Pawel Blaszczak.”

While no date has been given, it is told to be “coming very soon” as per PR manager Paulina Dziedziak. Currently, the original Dying Light did receive somewhat of an enhancement on Xbox Series X|S. While not officially through Techland, Microsoft did impose FPS Boost on the title which improved the performance to 60hz. You can read the full report by heading here.
