As we are more than familiar with from Polish developer Techland on the current status of the upcoming sequel for 2015’s Dying Light, the initially slated spring release window was shelved for more time so the studio to properly encapture the vision that the team has for the second installment. However, while fans are waiting, the developer thought of bringing a new add-on to the already expansive repertoire of downloadable content for the first-person, free-running, zombie-killing title.

In a new teaser trailer posted online this week, Techland reveals a new DLC that will be coming later this summer. Dubbed ‘Hellraid’, the new add-on reveals an arcade cabinet and heavy nuance on demonic rituals. You can watch the brief trailer in the video below:

On the Steam page for the new DLC, Techland shares that the new experience comes from an unearth arcade machine that was powered on once discovered, unleashing hell spawn into Harran. “Shake up your Dying Light experience with the upcoming paid DLC introducing a new game mode based on Techland’s unreleased first-person fantasy slasher Hellraid. Explore a new dungeon area, arm yourself with brand-new weapons, and face vicious enemies straight from the depths of Hell.”

For a more blunt synopsis for the downloadable content, Techland strictly wrote “Dying Light’s new DLC Hellraid will be your ticket to Hell and back. No, it’s not a metaphor. You will be literally hacking through demonic hordes of Hell.” The YouTube description also shares the content will be coming to all supported platforms.

Returning back to the Steam page, Techland emphasizes that this new content expansion will require payment to play rather than the accustomed content updates that have been established through lengthy, add-on campaigns in prior years.
