Since the game’s debut on PlayStation 4 back in 2018, Tetris Effect was the talk of the town for the virtual reality platform as one of the most well-received entries for the genre. However, the experience from Enhance Games could only be experience on Sony’s hardware for the time being. It wasn’t until the year following that the studio unveiled that Tetris Effect would be breaking its exclusivity for PC.
Now again today, Enhance Games has returned to unveil that the title will be coming to Xbox One as well as the approaching Xbox Series X later on. However, what makes this addition unique is that the game will be launching with a new iteration: Connected.
Taken the titling literally, players either indulging the game in local-play or online across the globe can play in one game and connect their play fields into one large stage. You can watch the trailer for the game in the video below:
“Now with all-new co-op and competitive online and local multiplayer modes! This is Tetris like you’ve never seen it, or heard it, or felt it before—an incredibly addictive, unique, and breathtakingly gorgeous reinvention of one of the most popular puzzle games of all time,” the game’s description reads on the Microsoft Store.
Elaborating more on the multiplayer fun, Enhance Games did not explain whether or not Connected will feature cross-platform compatibility between the listed systems. Even more, it has yet to be clarified if the existing version on PlayStation 4 and PC will also receive an update for the Connected iteration coming later this year.
