From Studio MDHR, many understood the first release of the indie game developer came the launch of Cuphead in 2017. With a tsunami of fan art and compliments to the new title, it was no surprise came the announcement of a Netflix TV show was in the works. And it is actually very faithful to the original game!
So far, there are two seasons for the video game television adaptation. Season 1 shipped back in February this year which ended on a cliffhanger just as it introduced a new character to the cast of porcelain duo. As for Season 2, that went live this past August which continued directly where the first season left off as new hijinks and adventures arose.
But, it was presumed the latest cliffhanger would not be continued well into 2023 looking at the wait between the first two seasons, right? Nope, Season 3 aired on Netflix this past week as it now has 12 new episodes to watch. You can watch the ‘Part 3’ official clip in the video below:
“From hijinks and heebie-jeebies to holiday cheer: This season’s got it all as the boys go big to trick the Devil — and stir up trouble all over town!” reads the overview for Season 3 of The Cuphead Show on Netflix’s website. It still surprises me plus many viewers how Netflix managed to ship another season with half the amount of wait time between the show’s first two seasons.
In other news regarding the Studio MDHR IP, it was announced that the expansion ‘The Delicious Last Course’ which dropped for the game this past June sold more than one million copies within its first month. You can read the full report by heading here.
