The Day Before servers will officially shut down on January 22, 2024

The Day Before, developed by Fntastic released on December 7, 2023, and it quickly became the most controversial game of the year. Just four days after its release, the studio unexpectedly shut down stating they failed financially. The highest peak The Day Before saw on Steam was over 38,000 players, but since then the game received very poor reviews.

It was announced early Friday morning that development company, Fntastic officially ceased operations and as a result The Day Before will be retired and the servers will be turned off on January 22, 2024.

A large investor for Fntastic was Mytona and they’ve been working in collaboration with Steam to facilitate refunds for everyone who purchased the game. They also state that for any players who have not already had their purchase refunded, Steam will proactively refund all remaining players.

A statement was shared on X (formerly Twitter):

The Day Before stands as a cautionary tale of the perils of overhyping and underdelivering. In our review, we score the game a 1 out of 10.
