From developer Zenimax Online Studios, the team remained occupied with its ongoing The Elder Scrolls Online especially following its deal being acquired by Microsoft. In 2021, the firm shipped its ‘Blackwood’ expansion exploring the world of Oblivion once more. Additionally, 2022 with its ‘High Isle’ ponders into the region of the titular Brenton native land.
Furthermore, the game also faced a next-generation enhancement across both Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 as well between both DLCs for the game. But the team is expected to be working on another IP. In one exchange online, it was revealed the team is quietly conjuring away at a new, unnamed project being worked on internally at the studio.
On Wednesday, Zenimax Online Studios shared the new expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online ‘Necrom’. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Venture across the Telvanni Peninsula to discover more about the lore of the Dark Elves who call this part of Morrowind home. Then dive deep into the eldritch curiosities held within Apocrypha, the realm of Oblivion that the Daedric Prince of Knowledge claims as his own,” the description reads for the new add-on chapter.
“In Necrom, you become an agent of Hermaeus Mora tasked with investigating a mysterious threat to the Daedric Prince’s most closely guarded secrets. You must seek out lost knowledge deep within the heart of the City of the Dead and walk between realities to uncover a vast conspiracy powerful enough to endanger Nirn and Oblivion alike.” More exciting is that a limited time trial for all base game owners will go live opening the doors to all expansions for the game.
“Starting today, for a limited time, we’re making all past chapters available to explore for any player. So anyone can test drive all of our adventures including our take on Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion, and much much more,” says studio head Matt Firor. This includes Morrowind, Summerset, Elseweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood, Stonethorn, Fire Song, Clockwork City, Waking Flame, Murkmire, Wrathstone, Wolfhunter, Ascending Tide, Dark Brotherhood, Dragonhold, Markarth, Flames of Ambition, Deadlands, Lost Depths, Dragon Bones, and Thieves Guild.
