The Game Awards 2019: Xbox Series X Announced

The first announcement to kick off the Game Awards tonight came from Microsoft with the console giant announcing the name for the upcoming Project Scarlett. Revealing that next year’s console from the home for Halo will be titled Xbox Series X.

Introducing the new console, Microsoft did so through a vague trailer that later built up revealing some of the platform’s biggest franchises like Forza and Halo, of course. You can watch the trailer below:

The console itself, as you can see above in the header for this piece, the looks alone will grab some attention due to the horizontal positioning of the hardware. Going to spawn some fun nicknames one again as it did alike the Xbox One did back in 2013 with its similarities to a VCR. One interesting aspect lies within the design of the controller: seeing there is an additional button on the gamepad, it most likely will be a share button.

Xbox head Phil Spencer did take the stage for a brief moment for a short time, however, no new information was revealed upon what we already know.

Xbox Series X will reshape how developers create and how players experience games. With Xbox Series X, we will elevate the way games look, play and feel.

Do you plan on picking up the next system from the Xbox family?

Xbox Series X will launch in Holiday 2020.
