For independent developer InnerSloth, the excess amount of popularity came to surely be a surprise when Among Us still stands to be one of the most frequented titles by players and viewership on Twitch. So much that the game studio decided to outright cancel plans for a sequel and dedicate its efforts further support the original release.
As part of that, InnerSloth then went to tease a glimpse at the new location back in mid November. While not much was elaborated on the coming map, players grew excited that the developer is working endlessly to play the game with new vistas to play. Excitement swelled even more when the next map would be fully featured at the coming Game Awards later in December.
And now that the show arrived on Thursday, InnerSloth unveiled the first trailer for Airship. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
From what players can dissect from the footage presented, Among Us’ Airship will introduce ladders for the first time which implies a more vertical setting for the game. Additionally, new tasks are told to be welcomed as well. And for those that decide their tasks then will also be given the opportunity to also decide where they will spawn on the new map.
“The Airship is a new, free, 4th map for Among Us, coming out in early 2021! All new tasks, skins, and more to keep you working … and guessing,” the overview reads from the trailer’s description. Also at The Game Awards, Microsoft unveiled that Among Us will be a new addition to Xbox Game Pass for PC sometime in the close future.
In context to the console port, one InnerSloth developer spoke on the console versions for Among Us revealing that this could draw issues without a prominent way to communicate with an on-screen keyboard. You can read the full report by heading here.
Are you counting down the days until Airship dorps?
