From Japanese developer PlatinumGames, the team is continuously adding new projects to its internal pipeline. While the firm is orchestrating its own opportunity to be truly independent, other licensed projects still linger. For one, Bayonetta 3 through Nintendo is underway with a release date paved for next year in 2022.
Additionally, Babylon’s Fall with Square Enix is also soon to release as well. Announced back in late 2019, the project has lingered in the back of the minds of fans awaiting for new details. While the game has went on to be pressed as a venture PlatinumGames wants to share more on, only time can do that. It was not until this summer we witnessed closed testing come to Babylon’s Fall then.
Now this week at The Game Awards, Babylon’s Fall official release date is here and it land this March for PlayStation & PC. You can watch the new trailer for the game in the video below:
“In Babylon’s Fall players become a group of warriors known as the sentinels, bonded with special equipment called Gideon Coffins, and throw themselves into an odyssey to overcome the titanic Tower of Babylon, within which sleeps a great legacy,” the game’s synapse reads from the press release.
“In addition to weapons wielded in both hands, characters can use the power of their Gideon Coffin to equip two more, allowing for combinations of up to four weapons at once. The capabilities of different equipment will also bring endless variation to the strategy that can be employed. The game’s visuals are achieved using a newly developed “brushwork style” to create a unique fantasy setting with a medieval oil painting aesthetic.”
Other Square Enix announcements from The Game Awards includes the PC version for Final Fantasy VII Remake. That is planned to ship next week on December 16th. You can read the full report by heading here.
