The Game Awards 2021: Quantic Dream Reveals New Project Star Wars Eclipse

Although Star Wars fans are adamantly cautious on new productions since the latest trilogy of films that hit theaters, inspired video games are shifting in a more positive direction. For certainty, the trend that began with the DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront reboot in 2015 and later in 2017 left a bad aftertaste beyond the polished graphics and tuned gunplay. However, Respawn Entertainment calibrated the connotation with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2019.

Now looking ahead, there are several projects that are on the way. Certainly, Star Wars fans are hungry to see what the anticipated sequel will be from the Titanfall team. The game was last reported to aim for a 2022 launch window. Additionally, The Division team Massive Entertainment has signed on to work with Lucasfilms Games on an open-world RPG entry as well.

Recently, word broke out that the publisher is extending its reach to Heavy Rain, Detroit Become Human studio Quantic Dream for a new Star Wars title. It was at The Game Awards viewers learned that to be accurate with the reveal of Star Wars Eclipse. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“Choices have consequences. Star Wars Eclipse™ is meant to be experienced in many ways, putting in your hands a cast of multiple playable characters, whose interlaced destinies create stories that will be unique to each player. Everyone has a role to play in the tapestry of events that could alter the carefully balanced peace of this uncharted area of the Outer Rim,” the team shares on the new project.

“With this game we want to enhance Quantic Dream’s classic deeply branching narrative signature, while opening the formula for action gameplay in the most epic and spectacular adventure ever created by our studio.” Set in the High Republic era of the Star Wars storyline, the game is said to feature a new, unique cast of characters for this new tale.

Recently, Sony Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Lucasfilms Games & Aspyr revealed that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake is underway exclusively for PlayStation 5. You can read the full report by heading here.
