The Next Battlefield Game Will Release Before April 2026 Says EA

Electronic Arts held its third-quarter earnings call today revealing new information on its plans for the near future. On Monday, EA announced Battlefield Studios and an all-new Battlefield Labs program that will allow the community to test new features. The publisher has now given us an idea of when the next Battlefield game will be released. 

The next Battlefield game is expected to launch before April 1, 2026. The fiscal year 2026 begins April 1, 2025, and EA said “fiscal year 2026 release”.

We don’t know too much about what Battlefield 6 will look like aside from the 10 seconds of early gameplay teased yesterday. The new Battlefield Studios is led by Vince Zampella and combines multiple studios – Ripple Effect, EA Motive, DICE, and Criterion Games.

“I’ve been playing Battlefield long before I joined the team. This game has so much potential. To find that potential, with us being pre-alpha, now is the time to test the experiences our teams have been building for our upcoming launch,” said Vince Zampella, EA Studios group general manager. 

For this Battlefield game, Motive will be developing the multiplayer maps as well as the single-player mission content, DICE will be working on its multiplayer, Criterion is focused on helping single-player, and Ripple Effect is working on a new experience for the franchise.

It has been rumored that the next Battlefield title is going to have a free-to-play Battle Royale mode. EA has not made this official yet but it seems likely. This is what the Ripple Effect could be developing.
