Upon paving the future for PlayStation 5, Sony Interactive Entertainment already orchestrated planned releases for the game. At launch with entries like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales & Demon’s Souls. This year, Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Forbidden West is scheduled for this year on PlayStation 5. But looking ahead, there is still more to come as you might expect.
For one, God of War: Ragnarok is still in the works, but might not make its projected 2021 release. While the game is certainly well into development over at Santa Monica Studio, the probability for its releasing this year appears to be slimming down as Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier comments it isn’t happening. But, there are more than a dozen projects and IPs that Sony Interactive Entertainment has yet to unveil.
Speaking with Wired, Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios Head Hermen Hulst states 25 games are in the work – half of them yet to be seen by public eyes. “There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions.” Hulst adds, “Big, small, different genres.”
Although there are certainly more to be added to the PlayStation 5 exclusive library, Sony Interactive Entertainment is also working to increase the value internally for the console as well. Transcribed by Video Game Chronicles, DigiTimes reports that production for hardware restructuring for the PlayStation 5 is to commence sometime next year.
Elsewhere in correlation to PlayStation 5, the PlayStation VR headset is looking to hold promise as well. In that, UploadVR reports the device to offer a targeted 4K resolution per eye that’s more relative than what the Oculus Quest 2 offers and a vibration feature for the headset itself.
