For more than two decades, The Sims has remained a staple franchise over at Electronic Arts. However, what has certainly overstayed its welcome is The Sims 4 which released in 2014. Despite being the latest entry in the series, the game did go free-to-play which is appreciated for those still looking a way in. Especially when the developer is ramping up for a new project.
In later developments, it was discovered that this new title would feature some elements of live-service. Additionally, Maxis did go on record to say that multiplayer would be a very big consideration for its plans on the next The Sims game. Ultimately, it was revealed that rather than working on a new project, resources will instead go into proper multiplayer for the established The Sims 4 instead.
This week to celebrate the 25th anniversary for The Sims, Maxis & Electronic Arts reveal that both The Sims: Legacy Collection & The Sims 2: Legacy Collection is available for PC users starting today. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:
