In result from the announcement of Epic Games’ game marketplace, it was discovered that some previously listed titles for Valve’s Steam is now only going to be listed on the Epic Games Store. Now it seems that the same will be happening for Skybound Games’ The Walking Dead: The Final Season.
According to a recent statement from Skybound CEO Dan Murray and Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe, Epic Games had some involvement into bringing the remaining of The Final Season to reality.
The team at Epic owns a major chapter in the history of the game industry. We’re excited to work together on their latest transformative event with the launch of the Epic Games Store. Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season.
Since the sudden discovery of the mass layoffs for Telltale Games and cancellations of the then currently developed titles, what held for the future of the already launched concluding season for The Walking Dead was left in question. Until more recently with the announcement that Skybound Games will help conclude the last season for Telltale’s episodic series, fans were left reassured that they will reach the conclusion of Clementine’s journey.
For consoles players will be unaffected from The Final Season’s restarted development, but for those on PC it’s a different story. If you purchased the first two episodes on Steam or any other platform, you’ll still receive the last two episodes on that marketplace. But for those who have yet to purchase it can will have to the last season will only be able to get it on the Epic Games Store.
