The Apex Legends live-service model remains a constant focus for Electronic Arts & Respawn Entertainment more than five years later. In a recent decision, the firm did decide to sever support for the game on Linux devices. Subsequently, this also resulted in scratching compatibility for Steam Deck too. The choice for the motion was to combat the growing number of cheaters & exploits that were entering the game’s lobbies.
As for the base game itself, Apex Legends in its most recent season, Season 23 – From The Rift, Support Legends are the new meta. Alongside a complete revamp for Combat Medic Lifeline, all playable Legends in that class are currently in a strong position with emphasis on keeping players in the game and offering more rewarding characteristics rather than a healing defense.
Now with that out of that way, the first major event for Season 23 is here with Winter’s Haunt Event from December 17th to January 7th. More exciting is the return of the Winter Express which has been absent from the holiday for Apex Legends the few years now. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
