Reports surfaced back in the Summer which revealed that Nintendo is planning on upgrading the base model Nintendo Switch by swapping the console’s CPU processor and storage chips. The discovery then lead to a report elsewhere that the filed “Class II Permission Change” undergone with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) resulted in being the then-rumored upgraded Switch, and still being sold under the same SKU after being processed.
Now looking ahead following the interior makeover for the beefier base model, it would be expected that future Nintendo Switch iterations would include the updated model, right? According to the announced listings for Nintendo’s Black Friday promotions, the specialized Switch bundle will not include the updated model.
Here is the disclaimer listed in the promotion’s press release:
Includes original Nintendo Switch model HAC-001. Battery performance ranges from 2.5 to 6.5 hours. For more information, see support.nintendo.com/switch/battery.
Nintendo has also listed a handful of promotions for some of the exclusive experiences only available on Nintendo Switch. Titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Tennis Aces, Super Mario Odyssey, and Kirby Star Allies are priced at $39.99 over the initial $59.99 standard price value.
Noted that this Black Friday could potentially be the last that the gaming market will see prices for both software and hardware unphased by the imposed tariffs proposed by the Trump Administration. However, this might be a thing of the past according to claims from China that the two countries have negotiated an agreement to settle a one phase trade deal.
What do you plan on picking up from this Black Friday promotion?
