Tokyo Mirage Session #FE Encore Box Art Reveals Persona 5’s Joker Cameo

It was during this past September’s Nintendo Direct that Atlus alongside Nintendo announced Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will be coming to Nintendo Switch this coming January. The title initially launched for the Wii U back in 2015, but the game did not reach the full potential that it could if releasing on a more preferable platform seeing the reception was well above average.

And while the game is settled to release this coming Friday, it looks that we might have got a glimpse at something extra that was sneaked into this iteration of the previously released RPG. According to Twitter user @Lucia_Turtuga, they posted an image of the box art for the Japanese version for the approaching which looks to feature Persona 5’s Joker.

From what looks to be Ren Amamiya’s alter-ego from the 2016 game, it does confirm that Joker will be in the Tokyo Mirage Sessions through some means. But as for what has yet to be disclosed: users dissecting the image suggest that he will simply be portrayed through a costume that the protagonist Itsuki Aoi could dress as when playing. If the character does play a bigger role in the game, that will revealed later this week when players get their hands on the game.

This discovery also leaves the question regarding Joker’s availability for those who plan on owning the rerelease for Nintendo Switch. While players unearthed this through the Japanese cover art for the game, does that mean the western version would be left out with the extra content?

Joker has been making surprise appearances in a handful of games such as Sonic Forces, Catherine: Full Body, and most notably with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. What is your favorite cameo that Joker has made with a non-persona title?

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will be launching on January 17, 2020 for Nintendo Switch.
