Amid the currently ticking countdown for the next Need for Speed installment to be revealed tomorrow morning, the official title for the unannounced game has already seeped through the cracks of an unintentional leak by the game’s publisher, Electronic Arts. The discovery of the title’s name is derived from the URL link for the approaching trailer that is on the official Need for Speed YouTube channel.
Reading “NFS_Heat” alongside the generated thumbnail for the video gave away the game’s official title just less than a day before officially being revealed. Atop of the game’s announcement scheduled for tomorrow, the official accounts for the series have went dark by leaving just the franchise’s logo as the account’s avatar and deleting previous posts/videos on both the Need for Speed Instagram and YouTube.
Shortly after the discovery of the game’s official name, Reddit user AHumanBeingNamedTom shared images that can be dissected from the video and uploaded at a higher resolution which does give a little insight on the coming announcement.
For starters, the title card that reads the name for the next installment; the use of color and even the font for “Heat” looks to demonstrate towards a costal-esc setting with the ramps of neon & pastel hues. Following with the second image that is used for this piece’s header above looks to use more dramatic angles alike titles previous have done as well as the industrial background that can be seen outside of the car.
Ultimately, only time will tell what is in-store for the Need for Speed franchise as the countdown is almost up with the timer currently sitting at 15 hours.
Need for Speed: Heat is scheduled to launch sometime later this Autumn for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
