This past weekend, we told you that Forza Horizon 3 players were being gifted a free Lamborghini #63 Squadra Corse Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo with a special Change Racing livery to celebrate Microsoft’s recent partnership with the team. As we also wrote, players in Horizon 3 had to own the Motorsport All-Stars car pack, which is not part of the Car Pass but came bundled with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions Forza Horizon 3, to actually redeem and be able to drive the gifted Huracan. Needless to say, the lack of an explanation left many players not knowing that restriction with an un-redeemable Huracan and no reason for the situation. Today, Turn 10 updated Horizon 3 players via the in-game Community News section of the Social sub-menu.
While not exceptionally visible to all players, the way the team apologized is rather lovely. For causing problems and not explaining the situation to players, the team sent every Horizon 3 player a free 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV Horizon Edition. The car is redeemable in the Message section of the Social sub-menu, under the Gifts tab. The team’s message to players is as follows:
“Recently we sent players the Lamborghini #63 Squadra Corse Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo, which is part of the Motorsport All-Stars Car Pack. As a result, players who do not own the DLC pack saw an error message when trying to download the car. We apologize for this inconvenience and, as a thank you for your patience, we are gifting the Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV Horizon Edition to all players.”
While it’s never good to have communication errors between developers and their audience, it’s always good to see them address the issue publicly and try to make amends with fans. Turn 10 has had its fair share of issues already in 2017, with broken Forzathon event series rewards, and this most recent Lamborghini mishap, but both time the team has come out about the issue(s) and either given the due reward(s) or made amends with other gifts.
