The current stance surrounding Rainbow Six Siege’s loot system for players to unlock new items currently resides with the Alpha Packs that are available for players to unlock through the outcome of their matches. While the system does reward players regardless, Ubisoft is looking for new ways that players can earn what might feel more rewarding to those who play the game occasionally.
Recently, Ubisoft announced that Siege will be receiving its very own battle pass system that players will be able to utilize towards unlocking cosmetics for weapons & operators, in-game boosters, and other story-related props. As part of the debut for the battle pass, Ubisoft will be launching the new online feature through two phases.
The first phase will go live during for Ember Rise in Season 3: titled “Call Me Harry,” the mini-battle pass will be available for free in the seven days the system will be out which allow players to test the waters of the feature which will officially go live layer this year. Rather than ranking the received loot by score, players will be rewarded Battle points through each game played from their consistency on the game which can then me redeemed towards in-game items.
Leading into the second phase in Season, this will release the complete version of the battle pass which offers loot either through the Free or Premium ranked players. Regardless if deciding to pay for the premium or not, players will still receive items based on their time playing Siege. The Premium track that ranks those who pay have not been detailed how much players will have to hand in return for better items.
Ubisoft Presentation Director Alexander Karpazis disclosed that more on the battle pass will be shared at this November’s upcoming Season 4 panel.
Rainbow Six Siege is out now for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
