After two mainline installments in the series, developer Ubisoft Toronto went in a similar route as Ubisoft Montreal with Assassin’s Creed to announce Watch Dogs: Legion. The game stands to be a spin-off entry while set in the same universe as a totalitarian group sieges London. In that, players can recruit their own DedSec members and play as each one with their own unique skills and traits.

Unlike its predecessors, Watch Dogs: Legion did not launch with a multiplayer. Instead, the base game shipped strictly ingle-player with the online update that arrived in March. However, players on PC found the game to be pushed further beyond what console users experienced. But, there appears to be another similarity as well.

Prior games launched without dedicated 60 frames per second support and Watch Dogs: Legion is no exception even with the latest next-generation consoles available. But, Live Producer Lathieeshe Thillainathan explains in a recent Reddit AMA that the update is due to arrive soon for the game.

Q: Is there any update on a performance mode which targets 60fps on next generation consoles? It would amazing if we got confirmation if it was in development?

A: 60fps for next gen consoles is in development and we’ll announce the exact release dates with our future TUs.

As for what relies ahead, Ubisoft Toronto also laid down a roadmap for content in regards to Watch Dogs: Legion. The developer names both Aiden Pierce and Wrench to be featured in their own unique DLC later in 2021. There is also mention of an Assassin’s Order trainee, Darcy, that will be a playable character as well.
