Rewinding just to this past November, Ubisoft & Ubisoft Toronto rolled out Watch Dogs: Legion just in time for the launch of the next-generation Xbox & PlayStation. However, the game unlike its predecessors arrived with one component missing: online multiplayer. While the previous entries offered the feature day one, Legion decided to skip on that. And perhaps that was for the better.

While Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2 shipped instantly with online, both faced a plethora of problems which did not easily go well with its users trying to play with friends and others alike. On the subject for Watch Dogs: Legion, Ubisoft scheduled a separate, free update for multiplayer to ship for the game at a later date.

In a new trailer uploaded on Monday, Ubisoft Toronto gives a full rundown of the Watch Dogs: Legion online experience coming next month on March 9. You can watch the online trailer in the video below:

“Having a dedicated space for the online mode allowed for that kind of freedom. I think it also just creates a really cool social experience if you have a memory of recruiting somebody with a friend of yours, and I think that’s a very powerful thing to have in a game about people and building a resistance, says Lathieeshe Thillainathan, Watch Dogs: Legion Live Producer.

As initially traced out in the post-launch plans for Watch Dogs: Legion, the approaching online update will be aimed for co-op experience as players can explore and take on new challenges in its version of London. Ultimately, it is aimed to tackle its own form of raid – Tactical Ops. Character progression and seasonal customization options are also emphasized by the team.
