Ubisoft Reveals Players Can Experience Both Genders Of Eivor In New ‘Default’ Mode For Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Dating back to late April earlier in 2020, developer Ubisoft Montreal just unveiled the next major Assassin’s Creed installment, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. After the torch being handed back from Ubisoft Quebec with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey back in 2018, fans are eager to learn what the base studio is implementing for the newest entry. Among the new things, many are also curious to see what the team will incorporate from Ubisoft Quebec’s time with the series.

Early on following the game’s announcement, Ubisoft Montreal did disclose that players can expect protagonist Eivor to come in two genders: male and female – alike with Alexios and Kassandra with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. But not much is expected to expand on those matters – or so we thought.

According to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Narrative Director Darby McDevitt when speaking to IGN, he discloses that the two character variants can be juggled when progressing through the game’s story. This is done through a newly introduced Default mode for the title.

Elaborating more on the matters of how this will be oriented in favor of the story and the canon of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, McDevitt discloses that both sexes will be present in different parts of the main storyline. “Both characters will appear at various points when you choose this option. So both are canon,” he adds.

In more recent news regarding Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, a listing on the Microsoft Store references the title to be roughly 60 GB. From the storefront itself it is 50.1 GB, but on console will result in the latter amount of space required. You can read the full report by heading here.
