In recent months, the discussion surrounding the coming Uncharted film adaptation has been missing from the conversation. It is presumed that the inherent and still occurring COVID-19 pandemic that talks of the coming production has been kept to a minimum to properly ensure the safety of those involved in the project. With filming yet to commence, it is assumed the studio involved wanted to wait until it is safe to proceed.
And now as we just overcame the first half of 2020 already, filming now looks to officially be underway. In a new Instagram post by lead actor Tom Holland, production for the Uncharted film looks to have officially begun. Holland implicated in the post that filming has started with a image of what looks to be a chair with the name ‘Nate’ written on it. The starring actor also paired that by simply writing ‘Day one” on the Instagram post.

Further background on the production is still as far as we know currently. It was reported back in April that the coming project would not be arriving until July next year. The Uncharted film was originally slated for March 2021, but a later reporting disclosed that the project has been ushered to a later box office debut in October. However, now PlayStation Productions aims to release the movie in the summer of 2021 as of writing.
However, despite the official commencement of the film now actually kicking off, the production still does not have a director to helm the project. In December of last year, Travis Knight positioned for the director’s chair shared to be exiting from his role for the film. Both Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are still casted for the main cast for the coming film.
What are you most excited for the coming Uncharted film?
Uncharted is set to release in theaters on July 15, 2021.
