Following the strew of cryptic tweets from Batman Arkham Origins developer Warner Bros. Montreal, the first solid piece of evidence has finally emerged giving fans of the series insight on the knowing towards a new installment. The unannounced game dating back nearly a year ago has been rumored to follow the universe of the Dark Knight once again with the main focused antagonist portrayed to be the civilly-hidden Court of Owls.

Alike the Canadian studio’s first project in Rocksteady’s universe with a holiday prequel of the Caped Crusader’s first appearance in Gotham City, this untitled game will also feature a different voice actor for Batman as well. According to an interview with JOE, veteran Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy denounces his involvement with the coming project.

When asked about if Conroy will return to voice his notorious role, he simply responded “I’m not.” Adding on to the disappointed reveal of news and in response to the Irish news outlet’s concern, Conroy shares to be uncertain for his absence for the Warner Bros. Montreal title. “I Know. I don’t know why.”

Going back to the team’s 2013 game, Warner Bros. Montreal casted Roger Craig Smith in replacement of Kevin Conroy as he had other prioritized projects; evidently Batman Arkham Knight. Going even further behind the studios teases last month, Smith did point at some possible involvement with this project thanks to some of the staff at the studio.

Smith annoyingly tweeted about him being unable to share what his current project revolves around, stating that cannot “violate an NDA for something that I can assure you does not exist. And is not a video game.” Follow suit, Arkham Origins writer Ryan Galletta and Warner Bros. Publicist Gary Miereanu respond to the initial tweet with witty replies towards Smith’s “unfortunate” situation.

Luckily, Miereanu in his response did clarify that “we’ll let the cat out of the bag reasonably soon,” pointing to a proper reveal to be showcased in the near future. Possibly he was referring to the teases on Twitter the week following, but Miereanu’s implies for more to be said.

Are you fine with Roger Craig Smith potentially voicing Batman once again?
