Remember around the transition from 2018 to 2019 where Celeste creator Matt Thorson began detailing an upcoming chapter that the team over at Matt Makes Games has planned to drop sometime in 2019? The initially promised “early 2019” free content drop for the year old platformer has grew bigger than even the developers expected, Matt Thorson revealed on Twitter last week.
The studio head detailing that the forthcoming Chapter 9: Farewell downloadable content will be roughly over 100 levels.

Thorson also went to reassure fans that the reason the update still has no official release date is due to the fact that the studio is not completely sure when then DLC will be fully ready to ship. “We don’t like to talk release dates until we’re 100% sure.” Adding on that the update already missing the game’s year anniversary on January 25th and dodging the early 2019-aimed launch happed after seeing how expansive the project evolved into compared to the original plan for the next chapter.
Seeing that Thorson already clarified that the new levels will be extra difficult for the farewell chapter: with there being more than 100 different levels to play, this will for sure make fans both excited and anxious at the same time when the developer is ready to release the DLC.
Celeste is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
