Back in October publisher Electronic Arts closed Dead Space studio Visceral Games, passing over the upcoming and still yet to be announced Star Wars title to EA Vancouver and Montreal-based EA Motive. Now reported by Eurogamer that Amy Hennig, creator of Nathan Drake’s story Uncharted, has off the project for quite sometime now.
At the Gamelab conference in Spain, Hennig stated that she was no longer the creative director for the unannounced title. Along with her response stating:
“I’m not [the creative director], I have not worked at EA since January.” Hennig said. “I’m not doing anything Star Wars. And, who knows what the future may hold, but that project is on the shelf now.”
Hennig also announced that she has been working on an independent project in the time being since she left EA. She said that ideas are still in the making for what her studio might have in store, but she mentions her focus on VR as she’s not to familiar with it.
With this news being a surprise as many predicted that this title would be coming as soon as Spring 2019. But E3 came and went, with the only Star Wars game news being the title for Respawn’s upcoming project.
