Sparked from the news that dropped surrounding CD Projekt Red’s Sebastian Stępień leaving the Polish developer for Blizzard, detail on who will take his role has surfaced according to LinkedIn.
Stępień prior to leaving held the position as the Creative Director for Cyberpunk 2077 as well as crafting the foundation for The Witcher series. Now it was recently discovered that Witcher 3 Design Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz will be taking Stępień’s place when reading his LinkedIn account. As of this February, his account Tomaszkiewicz as “CD Projekt Red’s Vice President of Game Development / Design Director – Cyberpunk 2077.”
For how this will play out for the development of Cyberpunk 2077 and how the title will differentiate with Tomaszkiewicz’s hands in the mix is unsure currently. With both The Witcher and Cyberpunk being very foreign to one another, it’s difficult to predict how this will affect the highly anticipated title.
Recently, it was revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will yet again be attending the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo which is held in Los Angeles, California. Assuming from last year’s debut of the game’s engine at the Xbox Press Conference back in June, Cyberpunk will be seen once again at Microsoft’s show. Prior to that in April, Rectify Gaming revealed that the game will in fact be marketed through Microsoft and later confirmed that with the game’s appearance at the event.
Cyberpunk 2077 currently does not have a set release date nor does the game have any listed titles it will be available for as of yet.
