Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty DLC ‘Battle of Zhongyuan’ Arrives Next Week

From Koei Tecmo & Team Ninja, the announcement for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was one title many did not anticipate from Xbox last year. However, the game despite its multiplatform release is part of the ongoing development for more Japanese-made titles to be featured on Xbox. And since the game’s launch in March & day one arrival on Xbox Game Pass has again become a noted entry for 2023.

From our review for the game: “Wo Long takes Team Ninja’s white-knuckle action to the Three Kingdoms era with stunning results. […] This story element is also the game’s most significant evolution from their previous games. Having such a beloved classic story to play off of and interpret in a new light gives Team Ninja the best story in one of their action showcases.”

Previously, Koei Tecmo announced a new DLC for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is enroute for June. Dubbed ‘Battle of Zhongyuan’, this marks the first add-on for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty since its arrival back in March earlier this year. “Included will be new stages, difficulty level, weapon type, enemies and more, promising an exciting experience for Wo Long experts and novices alike,” a brief synapse for the DLC reads.

Of course, players who purchased the season pass for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty can jump right into Battle of Zhongyuan. However, the DLC will most likely ship as its own item as well on digital stores come the release next week. Currently, there is no word on the pricing for the new add-on just yet.

In regards to other Team Ninja games, the developer is hard at work on a new feudal Japan title as well. Revealed last year, Rise of the Ronin in collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment is a new open-world RPG set during the tail end of the Edo Period as a civil war erupts.
