While developer MachineGames previously dished out Wolfenstein: Youngblood, a linear cooperative title that spun off the titular series in 2019, it was presumed the team would be busy with the inevitable third entry in the series. In 2018, Bethesda’s Pete Hines commented on the franchise with a tease that the series is to expect a third installment making it a trilogy down the road.
However, three years now since the release of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus – information on the newest game is still nowhere to be found. But while fans patiently wait, Bethesda and MachineGames in the meantime poke at its followers with a new project on the way. In that, a teaser trailer for a new, untitled Indiana Jones game is on the horizon.
You can watch the teaser trailer in the tweet imbedded below:
Bethesda Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Pete Hines had this to say on the announcement: “Todd is a lifelong Indy fan, and has been trying for over a decade to make this game. He’s beyond excited to work with the award-winning MachineGames team, a perfect fit for Indy.”
What comes to be more interesting is the timing of the praise from Xbox head Phil Spencer previously on the first-person shooter genre. While not directly mentioning MachineGames, Spencer does flaunt a little bit on the future for Xbox Game Studios-published properties from its network teams. Alongside id Software and 343 Industries, MachineGames is another recognized developer in the category.
More interesting is that this new project is also in collaboration with Lucasfilms Games. The new branch for licensed properties was just unveiled on Monday featuring specifically Star Wars-related content. But now, it proves to expand to other George Lucas-directed productions as well.
