THQ Nordic held its annual Summer Digital Showcase where the publisher announces new games and showcases already announced games that are in the works. Bugbear Entertainment made an appearance announcing Wreckfest 2, a racing game that is all about chaos and wreckage.

This highly anticipated sequel takes the chaos of the racetrack to the next level with a completely overhauled physics engine that delivers unparalleled realism in every bone-crunching collision and metal-twisting crash. Get ready to dominate the track with fully customizable cars, allowing you to create your own unique wrecking machine and share your designs with fellow players around the world. Whether you’re tuning your ride for maximum destruction or fine-tuning it for a competitive edge, the possibilities are endless.

This game is expected to be “the most destructive racing game ever created”. In some cases for at least this generation that could be true. It has been years since the world has seen a good destruction derby style game and Wreckfest 2 might be the one we’ve been waiting for.

Wreckfest 2 will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A release date has not been announced yet.
