Xbox announces Microsoft Store-exclusive green Xbox One controller, red controller goes on sale

About a week ago, we told you that Microsoft, as well as GameStop, would begin selling a special red Xbox One controller on January 10th, and the sale of that controller officially began today. Next up in the retailer partnership for Microsoft is Wal-Mart, with an all-new color configuration for the new Xbox One controller.

If you recall the coloring of the special 1 terabyte Battlefield 1 Xbox One S, the military green, and its matching controller, you’ll have a pretty good idea of the next controller design. The new color, just called green, obviously takes after camo stylings with a largely green exterior, with a second, darker shade for the back panel and grips, with a splash of hazard orange under the thumb sticks. The differences between the Battlefield bundled controller and the new green controller are the orange thumb sticks, a full-matching front coloration, and a dark green back grip. While it may not be for everyone, it definitely lets you add mostly-matching controllers to your camo green- or Battlefield 1-themed gaming setup.
In the official announcement, Xbox Wire states that the controller will go on sale in the U.S. at Microsoft and Wal-Mart exclusively on January 24, with a global (but still select-retailer) launch following a week later on January 31. The controller is set to cost $64.99 USD upon launch, and you can pre-order it from the source link.
