Xbox Game Pass is getting price increases and a new Standard Tier

It has been long rumored that Microsoft was planning to update the Xbox Game Pass service, including new tiers and a price increase. Today, the company announced that the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will increase in price to $19.99 per month, PC Game Pass will increase to $11.99, and the Xbox Game Pass Core annual price will be $74.99.

Game Pass for console will be dropped for new users, but current subscribers will be allowed to continue it. There will also be a Xbox Game Pass Standard tier launching in September that will be priced at $14.99, but won’t include day one games and cloud gaming.

When do the Xbox Game Pass changes take place?

Microsoft has indicated that price changes will go into effect for new members for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass Core, and PC Game Pass starting July 10, 2024.

Starting September 12, 2024, the price recurring charges will change for current members.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers won’t be able to stack membership cards beyond 13 months anymore once September 18, 2024 hits. This was first reported by Windows Central and further confirmed by Xbox Support.
