Xbox Games Showcase Set For June 9th Alongside [Redacted] Direct

On the landscape of showcases from team Xbox, the firm has been active with announcement shows this year. In January, we witnessed the second annual Xbox Developer_Direct which showcased titles like Avowed, Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, and even Visions of Mana. Additionally, Microsoft held a sensitive business update podcast which elaborated on its model to expand select first-party titles to PlayStation & Nintendo.

Beyond that, there is the expected June showcase that most firms & publishers host around the beginning of the summer. One of the most interesting will be from Xbox now with Activision Blizzard King now part of the mix. Reports recently disclosed a showcase is expected to take place then. Even more, one of the headlining titles is the long-awaited Gears 6 from The Coalition.

In a new announcement on Tuesday, Microsoft announces a new Xbox Games Showcase taking place on June 9th. With a prepared presentation, there will also be a post-show direct for a [redacted] title.

“Like our double-feature last year with Starfield Direct, immediately following the Showcase we’ll be airing a special deep-dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise. We can’t say much, so for now we’ll call it the Xbox Games Showcase followed by [REDACTED] Direct,” the Xbox Wire editor-in-chief Joe Skrebels writes.

“This will also be our first Showcase featuring games from our portfolio of studios across Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, in addition to titles from our third-party partners.” The biggest question is what will be the featured direct after focus on? From the nature of the blacked out game, it is likely the next Call of Duty.

More specifically, the unannounced Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War. Prior, reports online disclosed the new game to be ‘Black Ops Gulf War’ set for a 2024 release. The same credible sources also went on to say that the title is prepared to be showcased at the Xbox presentation expected to come in June. You can read the full report by heading here.
