Although the April showers might seem gloomy as spring emerges from a snowy winter, that means the May flowers will be fruitful for what is to come. And yes, that can also be applied to the monthly increments of free games offered through the Xbox Games with Gold program. For April 2021, Microsoft offered Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, Dark Void, Truck Racing Championship, and Hard Corps: Uprising.

But for those looking for a fresh fix, May 2021 will be just what you need for the next shipment of free titles from the service. Starting off with Armello & Lego Batman on May 1, the two games are to be free at the start of the month. While the first is unique to Xbox One from the start to end of May, the latter Xbox 360 title is only for free until May 15.

As for the second segment of free games to pick up, both Dungeons 3 for Xbox One and Tropico 4 for Xbox 360 will be available to pick up at no extra charge. Similar to the first half of May, the Kalypso-developed title is free for a full month from May 16 to June 15, however, Feral Interactive’s 2011 release is only free until the end of May. Noted, Truck Racing Championship from April’s Games with Gold is still free until May 15.

On the topic of free regarding the Xbox platform, Microsoft announced that its free-to-play initiative for games that launch with no price tag will not require Xbox Live anymore. The project as of April 21 welcomes 50+ titles the service. You can read the full report by heading here.
