For the regular Call of Duty fans that are awaiting for the next entry to be revealed, many are still in anticipation for the announcement that could be on its way any moment now. Typically, followers of the series would learn of the next project in the May/June time of things. However, that is not the case as the annual installment has yet to be pressed upon and we are already sitting halfway through July.

Reflecting on previous reports, it is most certain that the next project will be returning to the roots of Treyarch’s Black Ops subgenre as many rumors have sung that same song. In that, it was disclosed that the team will be following in the same footsteps of its sibling studio Infinity Ward as the firm will reboot its most prolific series for Call of Duty.

As the wait continues to be prolonged into the latter segment of this summer, it is unsure where exactly the announcement would land. To give an idea, Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier disclosed that the reveal will not happen for “a little while,” he wrote in a tweet just over a month ago.

Howbeit, the announcement could possibly be closer than we think. That is due to the recent findings that Xbox One owners have stumbled upon online revealing that a related title is available to download. Dubbed ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA”, the install runs for about 80 GBs, but cannot be processed when prompt.

According to a handful of individuals, which @TheGamingRevo3 compiled on Twitter, many were able to install the client which offered an enigmatic image of what looks to be a doorway of sorts that reads “Reddoor”. Presuming this is a playtest that has yet to be properly shipped for public access, this is most likely will be activated when the game gets announced. Observving what the contents might hold from the cover alone, there’s a tone of Zombies radiating from the image.

Giving more context to the unannounced game, it is reported that the rebooted title will reiterate on the original universe as familiar faces from the campaign’s cast will return and tell a more gore-filled interpretation of the 2010 title. Multiplayer is also told to be structured similarly with the introduction of Operators for the series. You can read the full report by heading here.

What do you think could come from this uncovered alpha for the new Call of Duty game?
