In terms for the future of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, more specifically the free-to-play variant Warzone, Infinity Ward emphasizes on the game continuing forward on next-generation consoles. In March of this year, the Call of Duty team shared that fans can expect the mode to be supported even after the next installment of the series breaks as well as the debut of the new PlayStation & Xbox.
While Warzone is to be integrated with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War when the first season for the game arrives later in December, players can expect the first transition for the mode. But for now, users on the next-generation systems are already finding new additions to the game. At least, that is on Xbox Series X according to Eurogamer.
The publication reports from its subsidiary Digital Foundry that the Xbox Series X version for Warzone received a new patch which opened 120 frames per second support for the first-person shooter. However, PlayStation 5 is missing from the equations. While Sony’s system does offer performance and quality modes for Warzone, the game only caps at 60 frames per second as of reporting.
It is suggested that while the feature is available for 120 Hz support is active on Xbox Series X, the implementation is currently inaccessible, Digital Foundry believes. Even after the fact that the game is cross-play enabled, the concept suggesting the feature is not available on PlayStation 5 boggles the mind of those that discovered the finding. However, it is expected the patch will come to the Activision-pushed title eventually alike Bungie did for Destiny 2 recently.
Elsewhere for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward recently announced that all supported platforms will receive an update deducting 25 GB from the client size. The action is done through a newly added texture pack for high-detailed assets. You can read the full report by heading here.
