To players that regularly play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on console, many grew to normalize the performance of the game. Given that PC is noted to certainly outperform its console counterparts, the version on Xbox and PlayStation can be reworked to meet the standards found for mouse & keyboard users.

And thankfully, PUBG Corp is already working to make a change for the betterment of the game. Well, at least for the optimized consoles. Recently, PUBG Corp told that Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro users can find the framerate for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to be reaching 60 frames per second.

Now, the developer has reached out once again to offer that the next-generation Xbox Series X|S alongside the PlayStation 5 both can expect the same treatment coming this mid November. Not only that, but cross-buy and cross-play is also being implemented for the new hardware too the team reveals.

If you are a current-gen PUBG Console player, you’ll be able to continue playing the game on next-gen consoles at no extra cost with the same PUBG account you’ve been playing on all this time. All of your game account progress and cosmetics will carry over with no interruptions.

In addition to PUBG being playable from day one on next-gen, we will also be supporting cross-generation multiplayer alongside cross-platform play. This means that players on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 consoles will be able to squad up and play against each other on the battlefield.

Noted, while Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are next-generation consoles, PUBG Corp does specify that only the beefier unit will receive 60 frames per second support. The entry-level unit is said to receive a patch later on. The story is said similarly for the base Xbox One & PlayStation 4 previously as well.

Are you planning to continue forward with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on next-gen systems?

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to Xbox Series X|S on November 10, 2020; PlayStation 5 on November 12, 2020 and November 19, 2020; out now for PC, Xbox One, Android, iOS, and PlayStation 4.
