xCloud Welcomes Backwards Compatibility Beta To Mobile Devices With 16 Games From Xbox & Xbox 360

To those that already own Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, more specifically xCloud, the feature does come convenient for those that own a Android-enabled device. However, the service is not available everywhere, yet. Not only is select regions still missing support, but other mobile devices are out of the equation as well. But, PC & iOS is told by Microsoft to be receiving a browser-based application “not very far” from right now.

But, the service still has much room for improvement as well. Looking at Google’s Stadia, the service is outright free to supported hardware. Users that purchase a game can play it on Stadia without the need of a subscription. And similarly, Microsoft is aiming to follow in those footsteps, as per a statement from Xbox lead Phil Spencer.

But, the service is fairly limited still as Xbox Game Pass on console does include backwards compatibility as well. Until now that is: in a new announcement on Wednesday, more than a dozen Xbox & Xbox 360 games are entering beta for xCloud. You can read the full list below:

Out of the 16 that were featured for the first wave of backwards compatible games on xCloud, three feature touch screen controls: Jetpac Refuelled, Viva Piñata, Viva Piñata: TIP. In the past, Microsoft has offered updates to other namely games for touch screen controls including Bloodstaind: Night of the Ritual, Indivisible, and The Touryst.

Other notable news regarding xCloud as of late is that the current alpha ring for Xbox Insiders welcomes the cloud-streaming service to Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S. Not only that, but users can also use Stadia on the same build as well You can read the full report by heading here.
