Yacht Club Games, the team most notable for introducing the Shovel Knight IP, is continuing its work to reintroduce beloved eras of the gaming industry with modern & robust entries. Primarily, the firm has centered around the Nintendo Entertainment System with releases that mimic the titles that released at the time. Even with its published project Cyber Shadow from Mechanical Head Studios.

Additionally, the firm is looking to expand to other genres moving forward. The game studio has illustrated this with its arrangement with developer Vine: the project in mention is Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon. Incorporating the titular IP with a strategic matching combat system breathes new life into curious fans. The same can also be said for the still awaited Shovel Knight Dig as well.

This week, Yacht Club Games held a presentation to talk all things for its future. One major announcement was for its next project. But, this time its dropping the shovel. Instead, the team announces Mina the Hollower. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:

“You play as Mina, a whip-wielding Hollower and visionary inventor. She receives a troubling letter from Baron Lionel, her longtime patron and the overseer of Tenebrous Isle. Mina’s advances in Spark Technology brought power to the Isle for the first time many years ago, ushering in newfound prosperity for its citizens.”

The description for Mina the Hollower continues, “But now, the Spark Generators have gone out, and foul play is suspected. You will use a myriad of weapons and oddball trinkets to vanquish the monsters thwarting Mina’s objective. Along the way, you’ll unearth the secret horrors of Tenebrous Isle.”

Entirely, Yacht Club Games while not officially working on a new Shovel Knight game did not abandon the concept of digging. However, this new game has been introduced as a Kickstarter project. As of reporting, the $311,503 goal was already met since its original announcement. You can visit the Kickstarter page by heading here.
